Bridges is a Shropshire based Development Education Centre. We aim to bring the global dimension to Shropshire through our work with local groups and organisations. Bridges has a development education resource centre and offices in Wellington.
In particular, our aim is to increase an awareness and understanding in Shropshire of:
- Different cultures, especially African
- The scale of poverty in less developed countries and what this means to the lives of ordinary people
- The interdependent world in which we all live: how actions we take affect others far away and vice versa
- What we can all do to build a fairer, more sustainable and poverty-free world.
Who we schools, faith groups, youth groups, charities, councils, business, community groups, universities, colleges…..
Bridges work creatively across sectors in Shropshire. Please consult our services and projects.
The centre is run by four staff:
