Youth and Community Work
Bridges offers workshops and staff training on global issues and diversity, that can be carried out in-house. We offer a core programme of activities for schools, colleges and community groups and regularly advertise sessions that tackle topical issues. We are happy to respond to specific requests and may be able to give you details of other sources of support or information.
Our workshops and training sessions are participatory, our aim is to consider the local relevance of global issues and, where possible, look at how we can all make a difference to the issue tackled.
Before each booking is confirmed, we will talk on the telephone or in person to help you make the most of our visit.
For more details of our current services and charging please click on the downloads to the right of this page.

Youth and Community Groups
Bridges offers a variety of activities to youth and community groups to explore global issues and diversity. We will always work in a fun and engaging way with games, activities and lots of discussion. We want to get you thinking and talking about some of the biggest issues facing our world.

Workshops
We can come and visit your group to run a workshop about a global issue. We can tailor this to meet your needs and interests so get in touch to let us know what you would like to talk about.

Events
We love to meet people and chat to them about our work, if you are organising a community event then please invite us along. We have several engaging event stands with activities to keep people entertained.

Exhibitions
The Views from Shropshire exhibition tells the story of people who have moved to Shropshire from other countries and celebrates their contributions to our community. The exhibition is available for hire so let us know if you have a venue we could take it too.
A few examples of our work:
  • A fun and active workshop on Fairtrade chocolate for a local Girl Guide group
  • Exploring the topic of “What couldn’t you live without?” with an Age Concern group
  • Engaging the general public with an interactive display on the top global issues of today in a busy shopping centre
Community Group Charging Policy
We recognise that most community groups have limited funds. We try to find funding for our work to subsidise our services and make them available free or for a minimal cost. If you are able to contribute towards our costs then it will help us to develop and sustain our work.
